Testimony has wrapped up in a 2016 Casablanca Apartments murder trial.

Court heard from the accused in George Gerard's death Monday afternoon.

Nicholas Joseph Necan went over the events of January 27th and 28th, 2016, saying he doesn't remember parts of his visit to Casablanca Apartments.

He told court that he had been drinking, and sometimes had memory gaps related to alcohol.

Necan testified he doesn't remember anything between visiting a friend's second-floor apartment, and waking up in the cells at the Balmoral Street Police Station.

Crown Prosecutor Jordan Filmore questioned that, saying Necan's daughter Randi-Linn Necan testifyied that she had found her father in Gerard's apartment that afternoon.

His ex-girlfriend Melanie Bell testified she'd left the Casablanca Apartments by the time Necan allegedly was in Gerard's apartment, but confirmed he was intoxicated the last time she saw him that afternoon.

On Thursday, the jury will hear final submissions from the Crown and Defense. (File Photo)
