The City's waterfront pedestrian crossover is in bad need of repair.

The Waterfront Committee earmarked a million dollars for the project in 2020.

Chair Iain Angus says they want to make sure it's physically sound but also aesthetically pleasing.

"How it breathes so that odours are not confined to the facility which is causing some problems now."

Angus says they also looked at how much it would cost to tear the entire structure down and replace it with the cost coming in around three million dollars.

In the end, City Council will have to approve the million dollars that's been suggested for the work. (File photo)
