A 25 year old man from Scarborough who was involved in traffic mishap near Marathon, got more than he bargained for after police charged him with fraud.

Police say he and a woman passenger were in a pick up truck that left Highway 17 and hit a rock cut on Saturday,  but they were not injured.

Police say during questioning they became suspicious of the man's answers eventually charging him with, among other things, lying about his identity, and failing to obey a court order.

He remains in custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
