Tick season is in full swing in Thunder Bay.
So far our health unit has seen 34 ticks turned in and tested, with only one coming back positive for lyme disease.
Dr. Ken Deacon says if you catch a tick on you remove it.
"If you pull of the tick early enough within the first 24 to 48 hours then there's no chance of getting lyme disease, after that the chance increases. So if you catch the tick on you early enough then your not at risk."
Deacon encourages you to be proactive to prevent ticks from latching on to you when you are in the great outdoors.
