Union employees at the Port Arthur Health Centre have voted in favour of strike action.

Unifor represents 65 people who work as medical aides, appointment secretaries and in medical records.

Their collective agreement expired at the end of December and a strike vote was taken last night.

The union has applied for conciliation.

Officials say that the main issues include the lack of permanent positions and the over use of casual employees.
