An American woman, who has been living in Fort Frances for almost three decades, is now one of northwestern Ontario's newest Canadians.
Tonia Dolph was one of 43 people officially sworn-in as Canadian citizens in a ceremony recently in Thunder Bay.
Dolph, who came to Canada in 1990 as a landed immigrant, says she really gave no thought to become a Canadian until recently.
She says she was busy raising her kids, until realizing she wasn't leaving the country, so she might as well officially join.
Dolph says she was very moved by the ceremony, noting the appreciation officials gave to her and the other new Canadians taking part.
