It appears the federal government and the opposition Conservatives have differing versions of motions regarding racism in Canada.
The government is presenting a motion to fight what it calls "Islamophobia", while the Conservatives say they want to protect all religions.
Heritage Minister Melanie Joly says the Conservatives have not included the word "Islamophobia" in their motion.
She says she's wondering what the Opposition is afraid of.
The local Conservative riding association tells our newsroom it can't comment on the motion due to lack of information, but it fully supports immigration into Canada.
