One man is safe after an ice rescue at the Marina boat launch.
Platoon Chief Johnny Doughty tells us an airboat was sent out onto Lake Superior to bring the man back to shore, after he was spotted walking on the ice Sunday afternoon.

He notes that while the ice could be thick enough to support you, it's dangerous to venture out onto the lake.
"Ships have been moving there, and possibly [someone on the ice] could find themself in a situation where they might find open water," Doughty explains, adding that sections of the Kam River have open water or dangerously thin ice.
Doughty also reminds you that walking out on lake or river ice is against city by-laws. (Staff Photo/Video)
